It is a hassle-free solution for modern India, wherein every person is in a hurry and doesn’t want to stop at every toll plaza wasting their precious time. When the tag is active, Radio Frequency Identification Technology is being used and is affixed on the windscreen.
Currently, 420+ toll plazas across the nation are implementing the FASTag solution. Under the FASTag program, more toll plazas will be brought in the future. However one needs to have a valid MOTOR INSURANCE at all times.

Steps to apply Airtel FASTag:
From the app store login by downloading the Airtel Thanks App.
On the home page click on discover Airtel Thanks.
In the reward, section click on the Airtel Payments Bank FASTag banner the reward section.
Complete the journey and payment process
Within 6-8 working days, you will get your Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) verified.
In your Airtel Payments Bank wallet/account you will receive a cashback.
Airtel FASTag fees and charges:
Through Airtel Thanks App the customer can purchase the FASTag.
Below is the price break-up for purchasing FASTag:
- Tag Cost: Rs.100 inclusive of GST
- Refundable Security Deposit: Rs. 200
- Minimum Balance: Rs. 150
NOTE: In the FASTag account the minimum balance would be a part. If there’s no balance in the main account, then this amount will be used for the toll transactions. A minimum balance should be maintained by the customer to avoid the blacklisting of their tag in their account. Customers can claim the security amount as it is fully refundable if one submits a deactivation request.

Documents needed to apply Airtel FASTag:
During verification original as well as a copy of the KYC document must be carried by the customer. Documents required for applying for a FASTag are:
- Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
- Passport size photograph of the vehicle owner
- As per the category of the vehicle owner KYC documents are required.
- ID Proof and Address Proof from the list mentioned
- A passport size photograph

- ISA (Identity, Signature & Address) of Proprietor – Aadhaar(not mandatory)& Pan Card.

For FASTag all the documents required must be in the name of the vehicle owner. The driver will need to submit his photo ID proof along with the KYC documents of the owner if, at the time of application, the owner of a vehicle is not present. A valid driving license would be sufficient for ID proof.
